Rickety Comment System
For a while now, my comment system has been semi-functional. If someone submits a comment it will be saved in the database, but the site will generate an error message, telling the person that I've been notified. There's two problems with that: for one thing, the person wrongly believes that the comment hasn't been saved; also, the message is misleading, because the email notification system is also broken. I've been putting this off for months now, because of school, the Wide Finder thing, the new job, etc, but I promise you, my few loyal readers, that I'm going to fix it soon-ish. :)
I'm also getting more spam attention lately. A batch of 32 messages came in yesterday , all following a simple pattern – I could write myself a really primitive spam filter to easily catch them. Anyway the spam never shows up on the site, all comments need to be approved.
Speakingo of which, when I approve a comment, the site should remember that person using a cookie and accept future comments without manual approval – that part is broken too, and going to get fixed. Soon-ish.
