The New Car!

My new car arrived Tuesday. I've delayed posting about it here mostly because I wanted to take some pictures first (no pictures yet; they will serve as an excuse for another post), but really because I've been driving around town so much: 160km in two and a half days. I'm really enjoying this. :)

As I said earlier, it's a Fiat Grande Punto. It's an all-around nice car: it looks good, drives well, the chairs are confy with good adjustments for the driving position, the dashboard instruments have a retro look to them, and it generally feels well-built, solid yet refined. Two things bother me: the key has no remote control (there's a radio dongle attached to it) and the CD player has no MP3 support or line-in connector. The engine is more powerful than expected – I have the low-end 1.2L – and it's nice to finally have power steering and breaking.

Raluca and I have a trip to the seaside planned for the weekend, which means some quality time driving on the highway – a new car needs to be properly broken in, right? The seaside part should be nice too :)

Hey, glad to hear about your new car! You should name it, btw! :P

Have a safe and *very* nice trip! Hugs to you both!

Good stuff! May you own it well and healthy (transation from the romanian "S-o stapanesti sanatos") :)

Thank you, thank you! I'm still looking for a good name, Raluca said something about mice (because it's grey) but so far I'm not convinced. :)

maybe Ratatouille is a good idea? And when are we going to see the pictures?

Hehe... it sounds more like you're trying to sell it rather than just getting it :p

Drive safely :) !
