Copenhagen

I'm coming back home from a 3 day trip to Copenhagen, I was my boss Miruna to this year's European CHM meeting at the European Environment Agency headquarters. The CHM is a program that aims to promote cooperation in work on biodiversity. At Eau de Web we have a consulting contract with the EEA and we provide some of the software for the European CHM websites so we went to the meeting to talk about those.

I've never been to Denmark before, and Copenhagen was a fascinating experience for me. It's like civilisation has evolved further than most elsewhere. They're very polite and strict about rules. Everything is expensive but also good quality. The EEA headquarters itself is in a beautiful old building, full of modern furniture and hardware.

Everybody rides bicycles. Morning rushour means you see a swarm on the bike lane, and it's all orderly and friendly and polite. On Sunday we saw hundreds of people of all ages running, there was some kind of amateur running event. They just kept coming and coming for minutes; some were even pushing baby carriages.

I'll be back with some pictures and hopefully another post about the business part of the trip.
