Road Trip, Part 2

(Continued from the previous episode)

There was a road rally team in the same guesthouse as us in Braşov, they were talking over breakfast about scouting the race course. Later, walking around in Braşov, someone handed me a small magazine about the current stage in the rally, and I also heard about it on the radio. Looks like this rally thing in Romania is serious stuff.

Later we left for Sighişoara – in medieval times this used to be a fortified town, and most walls, gates and bastions have been preserved. People still live in houses inside the fort and there's an annual medieval festival.

We landed in Cluj for the night. The road went over a hill just before the city and there was a beautiful view from above the night-time city, like you see in movies over LA. Sadly, the camera was not up to it.

We didn't get to see much of Cluj itself; we had breakfast in the morning, got some almonds covered in chocolate and tiramisu cream, snapped a few quick pictures and set off for Sibiu.

Saturday evening we went up to Păltiniş, to meet the flossCamp guys (Adi Roiban wrote more about that). The drive up and down was good fun with some beautiful views. On the way back to Sibiu we stopped at a cheese-and-ţuică festival outside Răşinari where we ate some mititei.
