Nouvelle Vague concert

Saturday evening Raluca and me went to the Nouvelle Vague concert. It was part of a two-concert bundle, with Koop on Sunday evening. I wasn't particularly keen to see Koop (though I love their songs "Koop Island Blues" and "Come to me"), and we couldn't go to both concerts, so we picked Nouvelle Vague.

I didn't know much about them, except for the album "Bande à Part" from a friend. Nouvelle Vague are one of those bands that are made for live shows: they are funny and sexy and rock-out-ish, and they obviously enjoyed themselves tremendously. I wish I had a serious camera, with a serious tele lens, and a seat near the stage, the Nouvelle Vague people are beautiful on-stage. Oh, and the music was great, too. :) Nouvelle Vague features a guitar, a keyboard, drums, a double bass, and two female leads with very different voices and styles. All their songs are covers but they're completely different from the originals, and great in their own way.

Near the end they did leave the stage and came back for the usual encore, and when the show was over they left again. But the crowd wanted more, and I'm pretty sure the band was surprised and confused, but they came back and sang another song for us. Good show.
